Zander Circuitry - Foxxton Woods
Our filthiest, nastiest fuzz pedal yet!
The Foxxton Woods is our re-imagined take on a certain felt-covered octave fuzz from the 70s.
In addition to the usual volume, gain and tone controls we’ve included a few extra parameters to let you dial in that perfect fuzz tone:
Input – Acts as a pre-gain control, cranking it up pushes the fuzz into complete meltdown.
Body – Controls the low end characteristic of the fuzz.
Punch – Controls the midrange characteristic of the fuzz.
Body & Punch work very interactively with the tone control, offering a huge range of sounds.
Our signature 6 way clipping diode rotary is then added in to offer even more versatility, allowing you to choose from:
Germanium – The same type of diodes diodes that were used in the original circuit, the lowest output volume of the bunch, one for the traditionalists.
Silicon – Louder, brighter and more brittle sounding.
Red LED – Much louder, less saturated but very punchy and aggressive.
MOSFET – Similar in output to Silicon but a bit ‘sweeter’ sounding, crunchier and a little more saturated.
Transistor – Very similar to MOSFET but a bit brighter.
None – Loads of output, the lowest gain of the bunch. Great for vintage style fuzz tones.
The octave footswitch changes the fuzz from a heavy, beefy fuzz into an ugly, aggressive octave monster. Switching your guitar to the neck pickup emphasises the octave even more, leaving the guitar sounding like it’s screaming in pain.
Please do not try to power this pedal with anything other than 9v, doing so will cause your shiny new pedal to stop working permanently, and no one wants that
